In particular, it fixes problems where opening the Task Scheduler, or trying to configure Windows Backup, results in the message "The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with" (0x80041321). Searching the web reveals that this message has been seen from time to time, and the (rather laborious) set of steps that can be taken to correct it are fairly well-documented. However, it turns out that reverting to Windows 7 from Windows 10 generates this problem in spades. It can leave more than 40 scheduled tasks in a corrupt state. This is because many task registry keys and the task definitions to which they refer are updated by a Windows 10 upgrade, but only the registry keys are restored on reversion, so Task Scheduler finds that, for these tasks, the task registry keys and task definitions are now inconsistent. The general recommendation in response to this reversion problem seems to be to restore the system from backups. However, I'm never sure about overwriting chunks of my system from backups, and would rather go forwards. So, since the fix is well-known, and the main problem is just repeated execution, I decided to write a utility to automate the set of steps required. And now, I'm sharing my work in case it is of use to fellow sufferers, pending Microsoft getting their act together and fixing reversion. You can add any number of applications to monitor, enable/disable them individually and edit the command line that will be used to restart an application. Restart on Crash doesn’t require installation and stores all it’s configuration data in a “settings.ini” file in the program’s folder, so it’s portable. It should be compatible with most NT-based Windows versions. How to... To add a new application to monitor, click the “Add” button or press the Ins key. To delete on or more applications from the list, select them and click “Delete” or press Del. To edit the per-application configuration, double-click the correspoding row. This will open the editing dialog (see below). You can also access the RoC configuration by clicking “Settings” and view the activity log by clicking “Show Log”. The log contains information about crashed/hanged applications, executed commands, and so on. Well, this one should be pretty self-explanatory 🙂 One detail to keep in mind is that enabling the “It isn’t running” option will make Restart On Crash treat the application as if it has crashed even if you have purposefully it closed it. Rick Dangerous 32bit Rick Dangerous 32bit The plot of Rick Dangerous is largely based on the Indiana Jones movie Raiders of the Lost Ark. Set in 1945, British agent Rick Dangerous travels to the Amazon jungle to search for the lost Goolu tribe. His plane crashes in the jungle, and Rick must escape from the enraged Goolu. When the game starts Rick finds himself in a cave running from a rolling boulder, a famous scene from the Indiana Jones movie. Armed with a pistol and dynamite, Rick must fight hostiles and evade traps in three more levels. The second level of the game is set inside a pyramid located in Egypt. In the third level, Rick must venture to the Nazi stronghold of Schwarzendumpf castle to rescue captured Allied soldiers. The rescued soldiers tell him that the Nazis are planning a missile attack on London. Therefore, in the last level, Rick must infiltrate their secret missile base. Rick can jump and climb, as well as carry a limited amount of dynamite and ammunition for his gun. This gun is Rick's primary means of disposing of enemies. Most traps throughout the game that can kill Rick can also kill his enemies, which can be to the player's advantage. The dynamite sticks that Rick carries are generally used for solving puzzles, such as through exploding certain blocks (some of them fly towards the explosion, potentially killing Rick in the backfire). Rick is also armed with a pogo stick that allows him to paralyze enemies. Unusually, many of the traps in Rick Dangerous have no visible warning, which means that a player's initial progress through the game may consist of trial and error. An IP address is similar to the unique telephone number on your home phone or mobile device. No other device on your network (unless you are using NAT) will have the same IP address. In order for a sending device to transmit data to a receiving device, the sender needs to know where the destination is. The destination will either be on the same subnetwork as the source, or on some other subnetwork. If the devices are in the same subnet, the mechanism used to determine the location of the destination device is the broadcast. But what happens if they are on different networks? This is where the default gateway comes into play. The default gateway is used as the destination of all traffic that is not on the same subnet. You might need to know the IP address of the default gateway if there’s a network problem or if you need to make changes to your router. In Microsoft Windows, the IP address of a computer’s default gateway can be accessed through Command Prompt with the ipconfig command, as well as through the Control Panel. The netstat and ip route commands are used on macOS and Linux for finding the default gateway address. If you haven’t bothered to go in and make changes to your network settings, you may find that you can still access the admin panel using that information. We at Phrozen Software do things differently, more creatively.
