It provides a list of installed Windows Store apps. You can specify the application IDs, and remove them all at once. Scenarios In Windows 8, 8.1 and 10, you can remove a single Windows Store app by right-clicking the tile in the Start menu and choosing the uninstall command. However, no command is provided for removing multiple Windows Store apps all at once. If you want to do so, you can use this script sample. Sometimes Windows Store apps may crash in Windows 8. Even though you can successfully uninstall and reinstall the app, the app may still crash after the reinstallation. Repair Tasks v3.3 Repair Tasks v3.3 This project is a utility that makes repairs to the Windows Task schedule. In particular, it fixes problems where opening the Task Scheduler, or trying to configure Windows Backup, results in the message "The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with" (0x80041321). Searching the web reveals that this message has been seen from time to time, and the (rather laborious) set of steps that can be taken to correct it are fairly well-documented. However, it turns out that reverting to Windows 7 from Windows 10 generates this problem in spades. It can leave more than 40 scheduled tasks in a corrupt state. This is because many task registry keys and the task definitions to which they refer are updated by a Windows 10 upgrade, but only the registry keys are restored on reversion, so Task Scheduler finds that, for these tasks, the task registry keys and task definitions are now inconsistent. The general recommendation in response to this reversion problem seems to be to restore the system from backups. However, I'm never sure about overwriting chunks of my system from backups, and would rather go forwards. So, since the fix is well-known, and the main problem is just repeated execution, I decided to write a utility to automate the set of steps required. And now, I'm sharing my work in case it is of use to fellow sufferers, pending Microsoft getting their act together and fixing reversion. Open source is particularly appropriate for this type of project, as the code necessarily delves into system settings, making complete transparency as to what it does crucial. As RKill only terminates a program's running process, and does not delete any files, after running it you should not reboot your computer as any malware processes that are configured to start automatically will just be started again. Roll Credits 0.3 Roll Credits 0.3 Roll Credits takes a still image and makes a scrolling credits AVI out of it, by starting with all black and then scrolling the image from the bottom up at the specified rate, until the bottom of the image has scrolled past the top of the screen and then it stops. Most movie editors make this way harder than it has to be, so I wrote this utility to do the credits for a production I was involved in. I exported the AVI to DVD and played it on the big screen. The image is centered on the screen, the background is preset to black at the moment. PAL and NTSC are the only supported output formats at the moment. We at Phrozen Software do things differently, more creatively. So, when we set ourselves the task of creating a novel way of detecting, disabling and removing RATs, we didn't want to take the route every other anti-virus company has done before us. Phrozen Software studied the behaviour of RATs and discovered that hackers virtually always use a technique called RunPE. This technique spawns a legitimate process – often the default browser or a Microsoft system process – and replace it with a malicious program code directly in memory. Your computer is thus tricked and treats the malicious code as a legitimate process. The user and his anti-virus program have no idea that his default browser is effectively turned into a virus. It can optionally be set to consume all calls to shutdown.exe and MusNotification.exe (among other things, this blocks Windows 10 Update restarts); but this requires running the app as an administrator. A full rundown on how this stuff works is below the changelog. Usage Notes Requirements: .NET Framework 4.0 or better; Get it from Microsoft. Instructions: Unpack the app to a folder; run it. (A settings file will be created in the program folder.) Then click the Block or Allow button. If you wish to block shutdown.exe or MusNotification.exe restarts (to suppress Windows Update restarts), you will need to run the program as an administrator. As of v1.2 We automatically ask the OS for this (you'll get a UAC prompt); The app will also warn you if it's not been run as a admin. The program must be kept running to work. You can send it to the notification tray by using the 'Hide' button, the escape key, or if upper right close button. Optionally you can hide the tray icon (in settings) for completely invisible operation. You can have the program start up automatically via a check-box in settings; this uses a scheduled task for auto-start. Remember though, if you move the app, you should re-create the scheduled task (Uncheck 'start with windows', hit ok, then check it again).
