Angband v4.2.0 (MacOS) Angband v4.2.0 (MacOS) Angband is a free, single-player dungeon exploration game. You play an adventurer seeking riches, fighting monsters, and preparing for a final battle with Morgoth, the Lord of Darkness. Angband is a freeware, open-source computer game of dungeon exploration, based very loosely on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. You explore a very deep dungeon, kill monsters, try to equip yourself with the best weapons and armor you can find. The goal of the game is to defeat Morgoth. Angband has a very long history. It started in 1990 as an improved and "Tolkienized" variant of Moria. Moria itself was created in 1985 and was inspired by Rogue (from the late 70s). The first version of Angband was created by Alex Cutler and Andy Astrand at the University of Warwick. The notable maintainers in the 90s were Charles Swiger and Ben Harrison. In 2000, Robert Ruhlmann took over. Starting March 2006, the game was looked after by Julian Lighton, and since April 2007 by Andrew Sidwell. Starting the release of 3.5.0 on Christmas Day 2013, the game is maintained by Nick. Angband is a member of a family of similar games called rogue-likes. Other well known games of this type are Nethack, Slash'Em or ADOM. Angband, with its source code available to general public, spun a lot of variants over time - versions of the game with changes against the original Angband. The original Angband game is referred to as Vanilla Angband. Angband is dual licensed, either under the historical Moria license, or under GPLv2. Angband Releases: 4.2.0 Background 4.2.0 was slated to make big changes to two important parts of the game: classes, and monsters. While each of these was big enough to deserve a minor version increase in its own right, doing both together so they could be balanced against each other was preferred. As ... |

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead v0.D-8766 for Linux Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead v0.D-8766 for Linux Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is an open source apocalyptic survival roguelike with the ability to craft items, scavenge, forage, fight, and build both homes and vehicles. Originally created by Zachary "Whales" Jenkins, Cataclysm built up a decent following before the project was abandoned. The community never gave up on the game - a small group of dedicated modders, hackers, and contributors kept hacking a way at the code, even knowing it was never going to be mainlined, working instead on a myriad of mods played by the few players still lingering around slowly emptying forums. Eventually, they were contacted by a web developer with some space to spare, who was saddened by how a game with such great potential was dwindling, and saw an opportunity to truly breathe life back into the game. Darkling Wolf and Kevin Granade seized on the idea of spinning off a full-fledged branch project, as if they'd been waiting for the moment. The subtitle Dark Days Ahead was added to the end of the original name, a website was thrown together, and the word was sent out that, like the undead abominations that lurk it's street, Cataclysm was back on its feet and hungry for flesh blood. Since then, the team of active developers has grown. A number of developers have joined the project, and, with the aid of Let's Players like jefmajor, the fanbase has increased steadily, well past it's previous highs, and things are only looking up from here. There are some great new features in the pipeline, and the game is getting better every day. Hopefully, someday soon, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead will be as well known the giants of the genre, like Dungeon Crawl, ADOM and Unreal World. But we can't get there alone, so if ... |

Endless Sky v0.10.8 Endless Sky v0.10.8 Open source space exploration, trading, and combat game. Endless Sky is a 2D space trading and combat game similar to the classic Escape Velocity series. Explore other star systems. Earn money by trading, carrying passengers, or completing missions. Use your earnings to buy a better ship or to upgrade the weapons and engines on your current one. Blow up pirates. Take sides in a civil war. Or leave human space behind and hope to find friendly aliens whose culture is more civilized than your own. Endless Sky is free and open source, the product of a growing community of developers and content creators. After years of working a factory job, you have finally saved up enough money to apply for a pilot's license and make a down payment on your very first starship. The backwater planet where you grew up only sells three ship models: a shuttle, a cargo barge, and a light interceptor. Depending on which one you choose, you'll start out earning money by transporting passengers, looking for good trade deals, or perhaps mining asteroids or taking jobs escorting freighter convoys. Of course, you are hoping to save up enough money for a much better ship before long. Human space is a network of two hundred star systems, most of them inhabited, joined by hyperspace links. No one really understands how the hyperdrive works or how the links were initially created, but they say that the strange aliens who live down at the edge of the Rim have other means of travel that allow them to visit other parts of the galaxy. A merchant captain can earn a living by buying cheap food and luxury goods from the poorer parts of the galaxy and trading it for medical supplies or electronics on richer worlds. But you can often earn a better ... |

Moving over the ocean is slightly slower than on dry land. Changes: Added Aslona! Added new ROOM_OWNED_AREA type for generic owned rooms. Uses code similar to the Cathedral or Decos' house. Change structure of quests. Petrus now takes the encrypted scroll and gives you some alone time. If you chat with him again, you will receive the GC quest, or you can find other people to chat for other quests. Add some new monsters, items, artifacts, materials and crafting recipes. Hotness can now be used to define materials that deal fire damage on contact, just like Acidicity for acidic materials. Use GitHub app for LGTM. Cats can be tamed with fishes. Orcs have black blood. Lobh-se is a bit more fun. Make amulets easily recognizable by color. ... |

King's Quest I Remake for Mac 4.1 King's Quest I Remake for Mac 4.1 AGDI's King's Quest I remake was released on August 7th, 2001. It was the first complete fan-made adventure remake ever released, and the first to ever include a voice pack. In all aspects, AGDI's King's Quest I remake has broken records! King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown, a revolutionary game designed by Roberta Williams and first released in 1984, epitomizes the classic adventure gaming experience. This game was the first of its kind which allowed the player to interact in an entirely original 2.5D world, and can be credited as the game that started graphic adventure gaming on the PC. Though the original AGI parser-based version is outdated and primitive-looking by today's gaming standards, in 1984 it was revolutionary. King's Quest I was not only groundbreaking, but also history in the making. It was followed by seven sequels bearing the King's Quest title. In 1990, Sierra released a remake of King's Quest I, taking advantage of newer technology and graphics (using their SCI engine, 16 color EGA graphics, sound card, and mouse support). Unfortunately, this version ended up being a total market failure. As a result, it was highly unlikely that Sierra ever had thoughts of making an even further updated Point-and-Click version of King's Quest I to match later games in the series. This is where we at AGDI decided to step in. Our aim was to remake King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown to the same level of quality as seen in Sierra's King's Quest V. We believe that the enhanced gaming experience for fans has justified our months of unpaid hard work. Our understanding is that the big companies stopped focusing on the adventure genre because, given the huge budget required to produce adventure games, it didn't prove as lucrative as other ... |

Simple, but deep: The game is easy to play, but a considerable amount of complexity emerges from the dense interactions between all its elements! Master of Magic-IME v0.9.9.7 Master of Magic-IME v0.9.9.7 Multiplayer Java rewrite of Simtex's classic game Master of Magic Master of Magic-IME is a multiplayer client/server java rewrite of Microprose/Simtex's classic DOS turn based strategy game Master of Magic. Instructions from the author: MoM IME v0.9.9.7 quick instructions ----------------------------------- Here's some quick notes on how to get a game up and running in case some parts aren't obvious: 1) Unzip momime0.9.9.7.zip somewhere. I recommend you don't put this under C:\Program Files, or anywhere else Windows doesn't like files being modified. Straight under C:\, in your user home folder, or on another drive letter are fine. 2) You must have a Java 11 or higher. There are now 2 builds of MoM IME, one which has a 64 bit Windows Java runtime environment already included and can just be unzipped and ran, so use this if you do not want to do your own configuration. The smaller download does not include a jre so can be used if you already have Java installed and configured, or are trying to run it on some platform other than 64 bit WIndows. 3) Run the server. After a few seconds it'll say "Listening for client connection requests on port 18250". Nothing else to do here, just leave the window open. 4) Run the client. This takes significantly longer to start up (1 minute+) as it reads in a lot of the graphics files and performs a lot of consistency checks on them before starting up. 5) Click connect to server. Click localhost (for the server running on your own PC). Enter a player name and password. Since this is the first time you're connecting to ... |

Middens Middens Middens is an exploration game using collage and original pixel art in tandem that takes the perspective of a drifter traversing a veritable x-zone. Roving its interminable wastes the nomad chances upon a sentient revolver beside an ominous pile of remains. The pistol offers its exploit in exchange for a pledge of inextricable compansionship. Espousing to be the player's conscience the dubious weapon directs the drifter to a nearby outpost wherein the story further unfolds. Despite its appearance as a wasteland the rift is home to many strange denizens--- some volatile and others ineffectual. Whatever their disposition the pistol represents the choice to engage them or to spare them. Aggression and passivity have their appropriate times with rewards and consequences being granted to both paths respectively. |

NetHack v3.6.6 NetHack v3.6.6 NetHack is a single player dungeon exploration game that runs on a wide variety of computer systems, with a variety of graphical and text interfaces all using the same game engine. Unlike many other Dungeons & Dragons-inspired games, the emphasis in NetHack is on discovering the detail of the dungeon and not simply killing everything in sight - in fact, killing everything in sight is a good way to die quickly. Each game presents a different landscape - the random number generator provides an essentially unlimited number of variations of the dungeon and its denizens to be discovered by the player in one of a number of characters: you can pick your race, your role, and your gender. For information on running the program see the README that comes with each copy. Run: nethack.exe for the tty interface nethackw.exe for the graphical interface Save and bone files are compatible between these two executables. Read Guidebook here. Oolite v1.90 Oolite v1.90 3D space trading and combat game. Among the seven trillion people who are - at least officially - Cooperative citizens, you are nobody. So far, anyway. You've got a ship, some weapons, and enough spare cash to get started - and one day, you might get the fame, wealth or glory you want. Perhaps one day, everyone might know your name. If, that is, you can survive that long. The two thousand star systems of the Cooperative once enjoyed a golden age of peace and prosperity, and perhaps the wealthiest of them can still pretend to. The trade ships that once safely travelled between planets now have to be well armed and escorted to fend off pirate attacks, from small-time criminals desperate for their next meal, to powerful robber barons extracting tithes from everyone who passes through their space. The Cooperative's police force, concentrated near a few influential planets, can no longer maintain order. The mercenaries they hire for a few credits a kill are too few, too unreliable to do so either. And in the darkness between the stars, an old enemy lurks, fearless, perhaps waiting for order to collapse entirely. Good luck, Commander. Oolite is inspired by the 8-bit classic Elite, and many aspects of gameplay will be familiar to players of that game. In the tradition of open-world games, there's no overall story: you can be a millionaire trader, a veteran combateer, a feared pirate, a lonely miner, a notorious smuggler, or all of them, or something else entirely, based on your own actions. One of the most important aspects of Oolite is customisation: almost all parts of the game can be modified using simple free text and graphics tools, and over five hundred expansion packs are available, ranging from minor tweaks such as a new ship or replacement sound ... |

Stranded II v1.0.0.1 Stranded II v1.0.0.1 In Stranded II you face up with the struggle for survival again. However this time there is much more to discover and to explore compared to the prequel. The whole island world is now better designed and has more details. It's possible to tame or poison animals or to burn trees for example. One of the best improvements is simply the huge number of new possibilities and objects. Far more than 100 different items want to be found, used, combined, eaten or used in construction. Many new buildings allow you to build a powerful camp which offers protection and unexpected comfort. In contrary to Stranded I there is now a real adventure with several different islands, many diary entries and interactions with other islanders. Of course there are also single missions again. For example an island where you can play tower defense, a raptor hunting island or a mysterious color game. That's not enough for you? Take a look at the editor and create your own islands. A clever scripting system offers nearly unlimited options. Objects can be changed with definitions and scripts as well. It's even possible to add completely new objects and to modify the whole game this way. Features big islands with countless different animals and plants more than 100 (!) different items with various qualities a lot of distinctive buildings and vehicles a huge arsenal of different tools, weapons and ammunitions smooth day-night cycle dynamic lighting effects, particles, fog, reflecting water and blur effects a big adventure with ingame sequences and story elements many varied maps map editor with numerous options extremely comprehensive scripting system for interactive maps ... |

It was originally a "Total Conversion Mod" of the game Doom 3 but it was converted to a Standalone Game in 2013 after id Software released the Doom 3 source code in 2011. It came from members of the TTLG community who enjoyed playing and creating Fan Missions for Thief 1 and 2 When Thief: Deadly Shadows (TDS) was released in 2004, there was no way to create Fan Missions for it and the publisher was indicating that no Mission Editor would be forthcoming. The Dark Mod was proposed as a solution to allow Thief fans to make new Fan Missions in a similar style to Thief: Deadly Shadows As a "Fan Mission Platform", The Dark Mod can be considered a wild success! There are currently have over 170 missions available! The Ritual 1.3.0 The Ritual 1.3.0 Every few years, in the face of poor harvests, pestilence, or mysterious disappearances, the villagers in this remote country must make a sacrifice to restore balance and prevent the destruction of their society. The entity to which they make this offering has been called many things: monster, demon, or beast. The villagers do not know the true name or origins of the beast, nor do they care to. They know enough: if allowed to slake its thirst for the blood of the innocents, it will spare them and perhaps even favor them with a bountiful harvest in the fall. The children to be sacrificed are left deep in the woods, or sometimes on an island nearby. Sometimes they are drugged, sometimes they are bound, sometimes they simply accept their grim fate. An elder of the village draws a symbol in the dirt and chants strange words into the night sky. Once finished, the elder departs quickly, lest the beast devour him or her along with its quarry. The beast hunts the child sacrifices. Sometimes it glides silently through the air, sometimes it sprints along the ground like an animal. No child left to the monster in this way has ever returned to the village. This year, you are among those to be sacrificed. You don't know if this monster can be hurt, let alone killed. You're sure that if you run far enough and fast enough that you can survive the night without being caught and devoured. Controls WASD or Arrow keys - move SHIFT - sprint SPACE - interact ENTER - advance menus M - mute audio ESCAPE - exit game |

The Seventh Door The Seventh Door This game tells the story of a man who wakes up on a roof after a black-out, and understands that there's been a short period during which he wasn't controlling what he was doing. When put in jail by the police, he discovers that he has some uncontrollable fits that give him strange abilities. He uses them to escape, but quickly realizes that some much more dangerous people are after him. In the meantime, Detective Zikaz investigates the murder of a young woman. A chalk drawing of a door has been left on the wall next to the victim, and the detective is starting to have headaches and memory problems while investigating the place. Little by little, he will discover the truth behind all this. The Seventh Door is a French team project (here translated in English), whose goal was for each member to take turns developing each sequence in the game, improvising story and gameplay. All graphics and most of the soundtrack are custom. The gameplay is varied, and contains several mini-games including puzzle, driving, adventure, and stealth elements to name a few. |

Totem's Sound Totem's Sound This is the story of the Norwegian explorer Johan Adrian Jacobsen. From 1881 to 1883 he travelled along the northwestern coasts of the Americas. Commissioned by a support comitee, he purchased and catalogued an immense number of artefacts and objects from local tribes for the German Humboldt Foundation. Totem's Sound is based on his personal accounts. Well, almost. Enjoy a day of Johan's journey, featuring great outdoor activities such as canoe races, collecting clams, not getting eaten by a giant grizzley and of course fish oil binge drinking. Get in contact with the local tribes, that are struggling to preserve their ways of life and their cultures in a rapidly changing world. Credits Totem's Sound was conceived and produced by gold extra with the support of Causa Creations in the framework of the Humboldt Lab Dahlem, a project by the Kulturstiftung des Bundes in collaboration with the Foundation Preussischer Kulturbesitz Berlin. As part of Rehersal Stage 4 - Travelogue Totem's Sound is being shown in the Museum Dahlen from 23.09.2014 to 08.02.2015. VANISH 1.0.0 VANISH 1.0.0 VANISH isn't your typical maze horror, nor even just a dynamic maze game; it's dynamically generated at run-time and continues to change while the player plays it. Each hall piece dynamically spawns with certain objects and events that dynamically spawn as well, which creates an ever changing game that no two players will ever experience exactly the same. With a possible burst of a pipe or idle creature waiting for you in the obscure halls, VANISH will test your sanity to the limit. We purposely don't tell the player what to do. We feel this adds to the immersion for the Player to figure out where they are and what to do next, as if they were the actual ones thrown into this labyrinth. That said... Find the glowsticks, then keys, then the exit gate without dying. |

Zelda Classic v2.50.2 (Linux) Zelda Classic v2.50.2 (Linux) From the authors: Zelda Classic is a tribute to (what we think is) the greatest video game of all time: Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda. It has been developed into an exact replica of the NES version that we all know and love. Beyond that, Zelda Classic allows the development of new quests that can use either the traditional graphics or enhanced graphics, as well as new enemies, items, and challenges. Though it started as a basic Legend of Zelda clone by programmer Phantom Menace in April of 1999, Zelda Classic has grown into something much bigger in the past few years. A full LOZ replica was achieved by June of 2000, with Zelda Classic version 1.84, but the story didn’t end there. Although Phantom Menace moved on to other projects, Fans of Zelda Classic wanted more. Fast forward to after about a year of searching for a new programmer, when Dark Nation comes to Armageddon Games, and breathes new life into what seemed like a dying beast. Within weeks, a new version of Zelda Classic is released, and it’s popularity soars. Zelda Classic 1.90, introduced a list of new features, and with it’s addition to Download.com, Armageddon Games is flooded with about 3000+ new members, and over a million downloads in a matter of months! Zelda Classic has since been released as open source and has current stable ports on Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Development continues to this day with new features still being added. Check back often to see what’s new! Click with your left mouse button to see drop-down menus to select things such as fullscreen. Use arrows to move and ALT to shoot or use a gamepad.
