Unicodia — encyclopedia of characters v2.9.2 A free replacement for the Windows Character Map with definitions.  Features • In Windows 10/11 — all characters of Unicode 15 (no named sequences right now). • In Windows 7 — all characters of Base Multilingual Plane, plus Phoenician, Aramaic and Brahmi, as scripts of high importance. I’ll also support Old Gothic, just because it looks really “gothic”. • Shows if the character is supported in your system, and if so — which font. • Copy character codes in HTML, UTF-8 and UTF-16. • Simple search. • Little emoji reference. • A few words on every script. Unicodia is just fun to read. • Chinese/Japanese/Korean are collapsed initially. Otherwise point somewhere, and 75% you hit an ideograph. • Free/libre (except license for one font, see About). Changes: v2.9.2 🕓 UNICODE 16 Egyptian A: imported 2925 images from JSesh, drew 7 “above the fold”, still 1063 tofu 🖋 FONTS #413 Merged 34 small scripts of normal line height (Cherokee, Tifinagh, runes, Parthian…) into “frankenfont”, lower chance of some stray font not loaded Upd Noto: Latin-Greek-Cyrillic, Pahawh (fixes some umlaut) 🖼 GRAPHIC EMOJI Fixed to deficiencies of SVG renderers: Angola, Barbados, Bosnia 📚 TEXT 🤥 Marchen: the rest scripts are not even unified 🤥 Indic Tt is now replaced with ṭ in English and ԏ in Cyrillic [en] Big grammar overhaul, still incomplete Subscripts/superscripts: English rarely uses dot-multiplication Cham: removed trivial sentence Minor fixes in Nüshu [en,uk] Minor typos 💾 OTHER DATA 🤥 Robotron Z9001 did not have colour by default: yes → later models Loaded Unikemet descriptions for new hieroglyphs 📽 CHARACTER DISPLAY Old Noto Egyptian is a little bit bigger now 🐛 Custom methods of character display respect small window of 2.6.0. What a pity, small window does not work for Egyptian without big font overhaul 🔍 SEARCH 🐛 Search in HTML entities will return exact (up to case) matches only ⚙ TECHNICAL Big overhaul of string storage: 1) simultaneously auto name and additional strings, 2) longer strings.
