The Oregon Trail is the classic educational strategy and survival game that puts you in charge of guiding a wagon party across the American frontier during the 1800s. Starting in Independence, Missouri, players must manage food, supplies, money, oxen, wagon parts, and the health of their traveling companions while making the dangerous journey westward toward Oregon. Along the trail you will cross rivers, hunt for food, trade with travelers, repair broken wagons, survive harsh weather, and try to avoid diseases and accidents that can quickly end your expedition. Every decision matters. Spend too much money early and you may starve later. Travel too fast and your party may become exhausted. Attempt to ford a river at the wrong time and watch your wagon disappear into the current. The Oregon Trail became one of the most iconic educational games ever created thanks to its blend of history, strategy, humor, and unpredictability.
