Lanemu v0.14 Lanemu v0.14 👉 Server-less (decentralized) Virtual Private Network (Open-source alternative to Hamachi, Radmin, ZeroTier, etc.) Lanemu is a free, open-source peer-to-peer virtual LAN emulator that allows computers on different Internet connections to communicate as though they were connected to the same local network. It is designed for multiplayer games, legacy software, file sharing, remote administration, and any application that relies on LAN connectivity. Unlike traditional VPN services that route traffic through a central server, Lanemu establishes encrypted peer-to-peer connections between participating computers whenever possible, reducing latency while eliminating the need for dedicated servers. Networks are created using invitations that can be shared with other users, making setup straightforward while keeping access limited to invited participants. Version 0.14 introduces RUDP (Reliable UDP) as the default transport protocol, improving performance and reliability over previous releases while maintaining automatic fallback when necessary. In some networks, the use of CONNECT method is blocked. In such cases, an HTTP tunnel can still be implemented using only the usual HTTP methods as POST, GET, PUT and DELETE. The server runs outside the blocked network and acts as a special HTTP server. The client program is run on a computer inside the blocked network. Whenever any network traffic is passed from the client, the client repackages the traffic data as an HTTP request and relays the data to the outside server, which extracts and executes the original network request for the client. The response to the request, sent to the server, is then repackaged as an HTTP response and relayed back to the client. Since all traffic is encapsulated inside normal GET and POST requests and responses, this approach works through most proxies and firewalls. If you have more than one 6to4 adapter in Device Manager, you likely have experienced a Windows bug in which a new Microsoft 6to4 adapter was unexpectedly created after a restart in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. This can be repaired with Tunnel Adapter 6to4 Adapter Remover. Just download the ZIP and extract its contents to a folder of your choice. For 32-bit systems, run i386.exe (x86), or for 64-bit (x64) systems run ia64.exe. In some cases, there may be many of these 6to4 adapters listed in Device Manager.
