A plea... Deanna and I have been running this site since 2008 and lately we're seeing a big increase in users (and cost) but a decline in percentage of users who donate. Our ad-free and junkware-free download site only works if everyone chips in to offset the revenue that ads on other sites bring in. Please donate at the bottom of the page. Every little bit helps. Thank you so much. Sincerely, your Older Geeks: Randy and Deanna Always scroll to the bottom of the page for the main download link. We don't believe in fake/misleading download buttons and tricks. The link is always in the same place. KB6IBB SWL Logger v5.1.0 A shortwave listening logger for shortwave and amateur radio. The KB6IBB SWL Logger is a program designed for the shortwave radio listener. It offers shortwave specific logging of stations, with most tasks handled automatically within a console style of operation. The program also incorporates the use of EiBi, HFCC, and AOKI shortwave databases for logging and looking up various known shortwave stations world wide. ![]() Features Red Hat Enterprise Linux Developer Program Participant. No need to configure timezones or offsets. Most tasks are completed automatically with a common sense work flow for live logging. SWL Logger incorporates the EiBi, HFCC, and AOKI Shortwave Databases. User Maintained. North American HF Propagation data from NOAA/WWV. Reddit: r/KB6IBBSWLLogger Minimum monitor size for Version 5 is 17 inch for Laptop/Desktop Usage. Supporting SWL Contests Changes: v5.1.0 2025-01-23 New Feature: Presumptive Propagation Analysis of logged entries. This feature performs a comparison of the logged entries with current propagation numbers to provide a cluster listing of stations broadcasting to a coverage target area, frequency, radio station, and transmitter location that you should be able to hear under the current set of propagation numbers. This feature relies upon the analysis of the A and K Indexes. This feature requires the details to be logged. If you are manually logging a entry, you must fill in the required fields to gain results. They include: All of the propgation group, Frequency, Radio Station, Signal Db, and Transmitter Location. The AOKI database does not provide Coverage Targets, if logging from the AOKI database, you will need to manually enter the Coverage Target for the entry to be used in the anyalsis. Instructions for use are contained on-screen. This is a new feature and will be worked on extensivly over the next several months. It will be our main area of focus until all issues are worked out. Improvements: The instruction manual is and always has been a part of the distribution, and is available in two places. You can access instructions from the Help -> Instruction menu option, or view the instructions file in the KB6IBB-SWLLogger folder. It will no longer be available for download on it's own. Performed some extensive work on the SDR communicatons interface. This is partly in anticipation for the future releases of SDRConnect. GQRX support remains solid and stable. SDR++ support is and always will be a "we get what we get" since it's a nightly build model being used. We improved the HamLib interface as well. There is still some work to be done in this area. Stability has been greatly improved. Corrected the AOKI database interface to further deal with the misaligned data provided. AOKI is now included in the "On Air" filter. We also added default value of "Information not Provided by AOKI" for the Coverage Target and Persistence fields. This was done for the Presumptive Propagation Analysis feature. Added the option for the AOKI data to translate the ITU County Code provided using the HFCC tables. You must first merge the HFCC database to do this. You will see the Code followed by [HFCC: <description>] in the entries. All selection tables and display tables are now sorted within the sql querry in column order left to right. The Shortwave Reference Database selection table is now sorted by Frequency, Time, Radio Station, Coverage Target for example. Removed Misc. links from the Help Menu. Improved the on screen instructions for various tasks. ![]() ![]() This download is for the Windows version (very bottom of page). If you need the Linux version, download here.
