Features • Small • Portable • Secure Note from the author: I made a simple gui as a front end to the OpenSSL command line encryption tools, and as a little side project, wanted to make a password locker to integrate into that util. I never did, as I started using this util at work for database and web logins and the like, (I don't like password managers as browser plug-ins, any more than I like GPG email plug-ins), and so this remained just a tiny little password locker. Usage: It's pretty straight forward, the first time you run it, you will need to create a password to access the password database. After that, the same dialog will come up, but without the second "repeat password" line. Additionally, each time you login, you'll be asked if you're using an SSD, this makes a difference in how the database is closed. On a normal HDD, the "shred" utility is run to completely wipe the unencrypted database file, while on an SSD, it simply uses the UNIX / Linux "rm" command to remove the file. While shredding the file is far more secure, SSD's are far less secure by design; shred will accomplish nothing besides shortening the lifespan of the SSD. Karl M. Syring has made available a large suite of UNIX utilities ported to Windows, and two of these that are called by OSLC Password Locker are the aforementioned shred and rm, called by the Windows version as rm.exe and shred.exe. ParkControl v1.3.1.8 ParkControl v1.3.1.8 ParkControl is a small freeware utility that facilitates tweaking of core parking and CPU frequency scaling settings of Windows power plans. Bitsum developed ParkControl because core parking settings are hidden in Windows, but can make such a large difference on performance, particularly when there are bursting CPU bound loads (the most common type). Core Parking Core Parking is a sleep state (C6) supported by most newer x86 processors, and newer editions of Windows. Core Parking dynamically disables CPU cores in an effort to conserve power when idle. Disabled cores are re-enabled as the CPU load increases once again. This technology is very similar to frequency scaling, in that it seeks to throttle the CPU when idle. The problem is that Window's default power profiles are configured far too aggressively when it comes to core parking, especially on workstations. Their interest was in conserving energy, even if this meant marginally decreasing performance. A number of complex parameters control when a core should be parked, and Microsoft tuned heavily towards power savings. The core parking settings in Windows are implemented as parameters of power plans (aka power profiles). That means you can, for example, disable core parking for the High Performance power plan, but leave it enabled for other plans. And that is exactly the desired tweak for most users: disable parking only for high performance power plans. When you router detects the connection attempt your router then turns on the ports, thus you have port triggering, a on/off switch for port forwarding. Well the problem comes if you are using port trigging for a program that doesn't make a connection attempt, such as say a ftp server or hosting a game. If a connection is never detected the router never enables the ports. Well that's what Port Triggering Initiator is designed for. You enter the triggering port to make a connection on and give it a address outside your network. Any address will do even if the connection fails its the attempt that triggers the ports. Some quick notes: The program doesn't need any information about your router. The 'Local IP To Connect With' is your local IP, if you have more than one IP on your system it will be detected there. It is built around the use of regular expressions. Although it can be used, to a certain extent, without a knowledge of regular expressions, that lack of knowledge would greatly limit its usability and probably frustrate the user. Consequently, if you don’t understand at least the basics of regular expressions and are unwilling to learn them then this software is not for you. RCFV combines file and url access with regular expression filtering providing a combination of tools not easily found elsewhere. Rick can jump and climb, as well as carry a limited amount of dynamite and ammunition for his gun. This gun is Rick's primary means of disposing of enemies. Most traps throughout the game that can kill Rick can also kill his enemies, which can be to the player's advantage. This technique spawns a legitimate process – often the default browser or a Microsoft system process – and replace it with a malicious program code directly in memory. Your computer is thus tricked and treats the malicious code as a legitimate process. The user and his anti-virus program have no idea that his default browser is effectively turned into a virus. RunPE is a technique that is used in several malicious ways.
