Release Notes
Version: 3.6.2 x64 Modernization Build, Released: 2026-08-07
- Update: x64 modernization by sl23
- Changed: Updated the About dialog, Donations settings page, and Help homepage links from the obsolete oddgravity.de site to the GitHub project page
- New: Native x64 build using Visual Studio Community 2026 and the MSVC v145 platform toolset
- Changed: CxImage, libpng, and zlib are rebuilt from the bundled source as x64 static libraries
- Changed: MediaInfo runtime updated to the x64 MediaInfo DLL v26.05; the build script downloads and validates the x64 DLL automatically when required
- Changed: Updated legacy Win32 and MFC pointer-width types, timer handlers, message handlers, and dialog return types for x64 compatibility
- Changed: Updated legacy Windows theme header usage for the current Windows SDK
- Build: Requires Visual Studio Community 2026 with Desktop development with C++, MSVC Build Tools for x64/x86 (Latest), C++ MFC for x64/x86 (Latest MSVC), and a current Windows 11 SDK
- Build: Run build_x64.bat to build Release x64; output is written to bin\x64\Release and the complete build log is saved as build_x64.log
- Build: CMake, ARM/ARM64 tools, Spectre-mitigated libraries, and older Visual Studio 2019/2022 compiler toolsets are not required
- Source: Cleaned x64 package is now separate from the legacy Visual Studio 2008/x86 build; obsolete x86 project files, precompiled x86 DLL/LIB files, and old build/deployment scripts are no longer included
- Packaging: The legacy installer build tree is not included in the cleaned x64 source package; the x64 Release output can be used directly as a portable application folder
