about its purpose and contents.

 - CONFIG/ad: airport source data (custom/imported "apt.dat" files)
 - CONFIG/bg: background images for radars and loose strip bays
 - CONFIG/elev: ground elevation maps
 - CONFIG/location: location-specific settings reloaded between sessions
 - CONFIG/nav: navigation and routing data
 - CONFIG/speech: pronunciation of airline callsigns and navpoints

*** FILES ***

Any of the files below can be deleted to restore defaults.

1. "settings.conf" and "text-chat-messages.conf"

These files store the general and system settings which are reloaded between
sessions. The radio text chat presets are saved separately for convenience.

Both items are loaded when a location is open, and saved (written over) when its
window is closed. You can therefore edit them between sessions, but should use
the application interface while a session is running not to lose your changes.
All saved settings can be changed from the application interface.

2. "CTR-positions.conf"

This file contains the radar centre positions for the CTR locations proposed in
the launcher.

It is loaded on program start-up, and saved (written over) on exit. You can
therefore edit it between runs, but should not do so while the program is
running not to lose your changes.

3. "main-stylesheet.qss"

If present at start-up, this Qt stylesheet will be applied to the main window
and its child dialogs. It can be edited and reloaded from the "System" menu
while the program is running.

For a specification of the Qt stylesheet syntax: doc.qt.io/qt-5/stylesheet.html

4. "colours.conf"

You may customise display colours by editing this file, generated on start-up if
not already present. It can be edited and reloaded from the "System" menu while
the program is running.

Colours are specified with SVG colour keyword names like "white" or RGB hex
strings of the form "RRGGBB". Line comments, starting with '#', are allowed.

5. "additional-viewers.conf"

When activated from the "View" menu, registered viewers are sent copies of the
traffic packets sent to the controllable tower viewer. Such additional viewers
can be registered at run-time from the menu, or using this file loaded at
start-up for those that you use regularly.

If given, this file should contain a list of one address per line (host + port,
separated by whitespace). Each must correspond to a FlightGear instance running
on the specified host and set up to receive FGMS packets on the specified port.
Line comments, starting with '#', are allowed.

6. "dock-layout.bin"

This binary file is created by ATC-pie when saving the window and dock geometry
from the "View" menu. It is not editable.
