Info-Base has different window areas that can be adapted to your own wishes in size. With Tab (or with the menu "Extras" or the hotkeys) you can switch between them, Esc always focused the list of notes.

Each area (and the two search fields !) has its own Popup menu (right mouse button), possibly with hotkeys that are active only in the respective pane. In the Main menu, the hotkeys are listed that have global scope. In both cases, only those entries have a small icon that is also accessible via the tool buttons.
Similar to the Windows-command Alt+Space the Popup menu can also be accessed with AltGr+Space (depending on the focus).

For the lists is important to know that typing a character jumps to the entries that begin with it. (Eg. you type "m" as is display successively to all, with the "m" as the first character.) During the lateral lists, if it is written without too big breaks, even the whole word (eg. stackname) can be entered.

With Up, Down, PgUp, PgDn, Home, End will scroll through the lists. Enter corresponds mostly with Double-Click and Esc exits the area to the main-list. All sub-windows and dialogs are confirmed usually by pressing Enter ("OK") and exit with Esc ("Cancel"). Sometimes a Popup menu is active also for additional functions (Picker).
So you can use the program with both mouse and keyboard. The usual keys such as Tab or Shift+Tab, Space, Alt+underline character etc.

When properly configured, the program can be quickly closed from the notes-list with Esc, and all changes are automatically saved. It may be advisable to put the program to start on a combination of keys. For this is highly recommended HotkeyP !

The status bar (below) contains important information (from left to right). With a Click of the right mouse button on the status bar, a "popup help" can be called to the content of the individual fields:

  1. Name of the loaded stack
  2. Number of notes in the stack
  3. Number of search terms (Global Search)
  4. Number of lines in the note (without automatic line break) and with an asterisk if the note was changed
  5. Postion of cursor (line:pos) or an indication that the active stack was changed
  6. Insert / Overwrite (switch with Ins ) or Last visits
  7. Filter active or not
  8. Number of notes in the filter
  9. Group active or not
  10. Number of search terms (Search)
  11. Path to data or filter conditions (depending on the settings)

When you start the Info-Base for the first time, various patterns are automatically created, which help you to understand its functionality more easily.

Notice: If you want to determine the total number of notes in the Info-Base, it is easy to do this using the global search and a space (assuming that each note contains at least one space).. (F3 - Space - Enter )
