Administration - Help
Welcome to the online help. This help is divided into the several administration areas. But before starting to create pages or users you might at first configure the main settings of the website. This settings you find under chapter 1.9 or directly in the administration interface via Configuration->Settings.

1. Main area

You enter the main area direcly after your login. The following settings are available in here:

1.1 Page contents

Here you can edit the contents of the pages that are to be shown in your website. Select the edit-icon to edit the content of a page and choose finally "Save" to apply your changes or "Cancel" to discard them. You may edit the contents either as plain HTML or you might use the WYSIWYG-editor.

If a page is not of the type "Page with content", you may find another button edit the specific additional content (e.g. for a picture gallery).

1.2 Pages

Here you define the structure of your website. Choose "new page" to create a new page, "Delete" to delete a page, "Edit" to modify a page or "Lock" and "Unlock" to remove a page temporary from your website without deleting it.

Pages can be of differnt types, a normal "Page with content" as well as a page with additional content e.g. gallery or link-list. An exception is the page type "Link" - this kind of pages do not own a content and are just pointing to a page inside your website or one from the internet.

Important settings for pages:
  • Title - the title of the page
  • Navigation title - the title for the navigation entry
  • Navigation level - defines the navigation level in which the page should be shown (navigations levels start at 0, if the page should not be included you can also choose -1 in here)
  • Navigation position - defines the position of the page within the navigation (higher values definer upper positions, lower values lower positions)
  • Show navigations levels - defines the navigations levels (if there are multiple), that should be shown on this page. If your website has only one navigation level, you can leave this field empty
  • Show in navigation - defines if the page should be shown in navigation (or e.g. if the page is just to be linked to)
  • Is main page - defines, if a page should be a mainpage for a website - select this for a single page only
  • Not deletable - a security mechanism which allows you to avoid deleting important pages
Other page types (like gallery or link-list) contain additional parameters to be filled.

NOTE: A link for an internal page can be copied from the "Page-link" field of the pages or page content list.

1.3 Page images/files

Here you can mange the images that you want to use within your pages ("New page image", "Edit", "Delete", "Lock"/"Unlock"). These images do not affect extended page types like e.g picture galleries - these pages manage their images theirselves.

Page files behave like pages are images, but these intended as downloads (e.g. PDF files) within the pages.

NOTE: To retrieve the link for an image, copy the text of the "Image link" field and paste it into the desired page content.
